Over the last couple of years I have had the pleasure of meeting lots of 2 year olds, but I have never meet one quite like Lucy! She was just blowing me away with how old she acted! After being with her I felt like I had to come home and start working with my kids on their spanish! She was such a sweet little girl and will be the best big sister in 9 more weeks! Trains are a huge part of our family! Carter has LOVED trains since he was 2 yrs old. It started out with chuncky battery powered trains, then it went to all the wooden Thomas sets, and now he is all about the HO scale model trains. So we took him to the train depot today to look at all the tracks. We had so much fun! I just can't believe how big he is getting and how his train obsession has grown right along with him.

I was so excited when this little girls mom contacted me about doing her pictures again this spring! She didn't change much from last year except that she gained a little more hair, a couple of teeth, and a whole lot of speed!! So, we set down to play some bubbles in the grass. I just love the determination on her face as she tried to pop as many as she could with those tiny hands! Thanks Stone family for letting me capture her again this year!

Carter had his 5th birthday today!! I am so excited for him and so sad for me! He is so funny, thoughtful, in love with trains, likes to eat just the peanuts off the top of his ice cream cones, a complete clean freak, wears nothing but crocs and blue jeans, takes care of his little sister, and can't wait to be a big brother again. He is all of these things, but to me he will always be that long-haired little boy that comes running with his arms opened wide calling me, "mommy".

Spring is finally here!

It is so exciting to see everything starting to get green and leaf out! The kids are so happy to be outside all covered in sidewalk chalk. I just love this time or year! If you do too, why not take the kids outside, let them run free, and capture that spirit! This is the perfect time of year for all of your spring portraits. But hurry, I am really ready to have this baby!! I will be scheduling now until the end of April. Then I will pick back up in the fall. The one exception is for newborns. If you are expecting and due during the time that I am on maternity leave, please let me know as soon as possible so we can tentatively plan for it. Please keep in mind the best time for newborns is before they are 2 weeks old. I hope you all have a wonderful spring!!

I wanted this name for our little girl so bad! I still love it! Lilly did so great today despite the sprinkles and needing a nap! I love the colors in this picture. People are always scared to wear a lot of color but sometimes it is so bright, fresh, and fun. I am going to do a post soon on ideas of what to wear in fall pictures. So keep checking back.

This is the first time that this little boy has ever had his pictures made! I think he is a natural! His mom said he cried the whole way here (from Edmonson County) but you would have never known it. We had so much fun together and got lots of great shots. I hope his mom thinks it was worth the trip!

It has taken me a while to get back in the groove of things. I guess I just didn't want to admit that vacation was actually over! But, I got to come back to a great family to work with. They were the most thoughtful family! Plus, they have 2 adorable little girls! I learned that Ava really likes Shreck and Bruester's ice cream but doesn't like having her picture taken with her new baby sister! Look how sweet they are!

Tropical Storm Fay

I know everyone has been worried about the tropical storm that is heading this way so I wanted to give you an update on how we're doing. We are under a tropical storm warning and they are expecting 10-12 inches of rain. The winds are getting really strong. There is a whistling sound in our condo that sounds like a jet taking off because of the wind coming through the crakes in the door. They have taken everything off the beach and put out the red flags. They also closed the pool and put up all of those chairs. We tried to walk down to the beach but the sand is blowing so bad that it feels like razors hitting your legs. We are planning on leaving in the morning unless it gets worse.

We all went on a dolpin cruise last night and it was so neat! The kids loved it. The dolpins would come right up to the side of the boat and ride in the waves. Then they all got to take turns driving the boat!

It took a little while but we finally got some great pictures. When I look at these it makes me laugh because I know what all happened before we got these. Carter was running from the camera (the usual!), Lainey was terrified of being put down in the sand, Parker only wanted to role in the sand, and Peyton is just way to cool for all of this!! There was yelling, bribing, and then-- the smiles!

We are having so much fun on our vacation (now!). Lainey was sick and crying ever since Sunday but this morning we finally figured out what was wrong. She was completely constipated! BAD! I won't go into it on the blog but just know she is fine now and here is the first picture I got of her smiling!

The only bad thing now is that she hates the sand. But, we are working on that and she's getting a little better. Today we took her down to the beach and Aunt Bibi made recliners in the sand for her and Peyton. That was golden!

Parker and Carter have had so much fun together!! They have not fought or separated at all! I am tickled to death about that! Look how cute they are together!

The boys are so funny because they just won't stop to rest, so today Parker came in for a snack and this is how we found him!

I just have one more to show before I go to bed because everyone is asleep but me! I just love this one of Carter. How sweet is he?!

First Day of School

It's back to school time!! Yeah! I think I am the only one feeling that good about it. As you can see neither one of them was excited this morning! They both cried but did fine after I was gone. The pictures aren't great but they are the way our life is!

But, here they are happy with their after school treat! Ring pops! (or lolli-lolli's as Lainey calls them!)

And, I just had to post this one because I think it is just funny! When I picked her up today she had her name on her back and on her diapers. I don't know why that makes me laugh!

Tonight was so beautiful! We are having the best weather and I really wanted to get some pictures of the kids. I haven't gone through them all yet but I knew I was going to love this one of Lainey when I took it. I just love the light around her face and the little drops of light on the grass. My favorite part is how focused she is on her dress. She is really getting into the whole looking pretty thing! I look at this and my heart melts! Lincoln and Lena are moble, curious, and cousins! These two are so fast now that their parents hadn't been able to get any pictures of them together yet. We had alot of fun together trying to get the right shot or just anything of them together! But when all else fails, put them in a spot were they can't move! Tonight we got alot of rain but right at sunset (the best light) the sun came out! I was so excited because I have these boots that I have been dying to get her picture in. So, we rushed around the house gathering everything we needed and went to play in the puddles!

Our house is so over run with Thomas the train that this poor little girl even has to play with a Thomas umbrella!

I could not have asked for a better shoot last night! The sunset lighting was perfect, the location was perfect (Traditions on Lovers Lane), and Jax and Ansley were perfect! We had so much fun playing together. Jax you did great smiling for the ladies and Ansley you were the perfect princess. I don't believe a word your mom says about you!!

This past fall I did most of my shoots at the Bowling Green Country Club. There were so many trees and shrubs that had great fall color. There is also alot of stone and these really cool old wooden steps that the kids love to play on. The only bad thing about fall is it gets busy really quick with everyone wanting pictures for their Christmas cards. So make sure and plan ahead!

Doing shoots here is just so much fun. All of the splashing and rock skipping is just great! This is a very different look than your typical pictures but that's why I like it. I like when they get wet and just look like they are having a blast!

I had the privilege of photographing one of the sweetest newborns this past week. Her little features were just perfect! Being around her made me want to have another baby--only for a split second!
